Seattle Home Movie Day 2008
October 18, 2008

Join us for a fun evening of film. Seattle Home Movie Day 2008 will be at Wallingford United Methodist Church from 5pm to 9pm. There will be opportunities to bring in your home movies - old film-based movies on 8mm, super 8 and 16mm and screen them. All formats are welcome! We will have discussion on film preservation with one of Film Archives Specialist from the UW and exhibits for how to clean, splice and take care of your old films. Starting about 7pm we will be showing home-movies non-stop featuring those that folks bring in, ones that we have collected and a few notable home movies such as "Multiple Sidosis" which was written, directed and starred Sid Lavarents. In 2000 the United States Library of Congress deemed Multiple Sidosis "culturally significant" and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. We will also show some very early films from the 1920s up to present day.
